Time for good old fashion lending to come back in style.
Trust is the basis of any lending platform. The lender trusts the borrow to pay back the loan in an agreed upon manor and borrower expects the lender to loan the money in timely and agreed upon basis.
Both parties normally have skin in game. The collapse of the securities markets have finally made lenders and borrowers play by the old rules again. The borrowers now need skin in game, full documentation and they must get know the lender. The lenders now must hold the loans and not make a quick buck on the sale with no more contact with the borrower.
On the bright side, lending officers with knowledge and integrity are now more valuable.
Now we have just good old fashion bank loans and high documentation FHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans.
